Work-life balance has always been the mission behind the mission at The Records Company. We offer services that allow your team to complete tasks quickly and efficiently, which frees up your work time for other tasks, but that efficiency also helps you free up time for your personal life. With an eye toward not only making time in the office go smoother but improving the quality of your time out of the office, The Records Company has teamed up with a new podcast: In the Grind with Meg and Grady.
This podcast also happens to be produced by our very own president and chairman, Grady Marin, and our business development coordinator, Meagan Ryana. It’s the product of a 28-year friendship and springs from a commitment to promote work-life balance far and wide.
Marin explains, “We wanted to reach out to people, talk about things that people don’t really get to talk about… just connect, and hopefully provide a little bit of laughter from our life blunders.” He and his co-host Ryana met in fourth grade and have maintained a bond across years and differing life paths, bringing them back together in recent months.
Marin says the idea for the podcast came from this time of reconnecting with his old friend: “We thought about our childhood, coming from a very small, poor community. I just wanted to reach out and let people know that you can be someone if you just put the effort forward, speak up, and take risks despite your social background or past indiscretions. I don’t like limits or boundaries, and people can easily break them if they just plow forward.” He describes Meg as “a brilliant shining star, but she’s also intelligent, strong-willed, driven, ambitious, and she’s extremely devoted, but she will never lie. Meg can just say the most crazy things and I laugh for days. To me, she’s perfect.”
While he hopes clients from The Records Company seeking greater work-life balance will find value in the podcast, Marin sees the podcast as an independent venture to connect with a broader audience looking for “fun, audacious, and outlandish” commentary on professional and personal life. Marin says, “At work, I’m professional and suited up. As a podcast host, listeners are exposed to my personal life, inside closed doors and behind my walls–almost two entirely different people. I’m a kid at heart. I love traveling, cooking, spending time with my family, and I love making other people happy. The smile of others makes me complete – that means I’ve accomplished something in life by making someone else’s life a little better or brighter.”
If you want up your work-life balance and join the fun, new episodes of In the Grind with Meg and Grady are released every Thursday, and they’re available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music/ Audible, and most other podcast streaming platforms.
